My name is Iowta Williams. I was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. My family and I came to the U.S when I was 16 years old. I am currently living in the Bronx, but I initially resided in Long Island for about 5 years until I decided to move and branch off on my own. I am the oldest child for my father and the middle child for my mother.
I previously went to Suffolk Community College and Medgar Evers College before transferring. I am currently a lower junior student at Lehman College. I am hoping to be accepted in the Social Work Program, so I can start my studies in the field. I gained interest in the Social Work field after working at my current job Young Adult Institute (YAI) where I work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I teach the people I work with daily skills and I help them to achieve their goals.
Being at Lehman and taking Fictional Writing made me realize how much I barely read. I liked to watch TV series and movies more than I would like to read fiction. My favorites kinds of fictional writings, shows or pieces are detective, mystery and action. I sometimes like romance and comedy. Moving forward I will try to expand on my readings, try to read more whether it is fiction or not.
